Okinawa Kenpo news letter ---nov
Have you ever though what can I do for my sensei? Some people like GROUP A says We can ignore his teachings that we learned in okinawa while we were there , and never practice karate again as long as we live. which is what a lot of people do let's say 50% GROUP B another 25% went to Okinawa as military personell wanted to train hard and carry on the art. They came back to the states and took a few months off and then decided to really get back in to it. They start to practice, and guess what they can't remember their kata. So they piece to gether their kata, the rest of the training they do any excersise thar comes to mind. So then you got a system of maby that is it, the true way. So they stumble and mumble the rest of their lives in karate. GROUP C 10 % went to Okinawa, trained hard, came back to the states, started doing karate profesionaly they love it. But they got over head, and to pay their rent, they have to give more belts more certificates, do what is popular on tv or now a days the web. They change the kata to make it more apealing to the public to judges at tournaments, all this is done to pay the rent and hopefully groceries, and the other house hold bills. Then there is the ultimate style of "take ones dough" this art was made by busies people with the intent on making money. So these people rely on these money making skills thus deluteing karate. To al most nothing. GROUP D 10% they learned from group C. Then you got GROUP E they are the group C 10 % and D sensei's who reilize their error in their ways so the bring over okinawan sensei's to legitimize their ways. These people get training for about a week per year until they feel they can discard their paid for sensei because the okinawan sensei is no longer needed Because in their mind they the sensei who discarded his okinawan sensei claims to be grand master or the other titles such as shihan , kiyoshi or supreme grand master. These people are self proclaimed masters who don't know the way of budo. They are masters of siminrs. These people the only thing they are masters of is your check book. Then you. Have GROUP F, these guys were military, and wentvto Okinawa some even used their karate skills in Vietnam, these guys take karate seriously, martial arts means military arts, same as bushi and budo, bushi is soldier budo is the way of the soldier. WHICH GROUP ARE YOU? This is the opinion of sensei Neco Medes Flores , what is your feed back? I just got back from Okinawa on Nov 14 2010i went to visit the odo family out of respect for sensei Ido and then me and my son went to Nago to see the saiko shihan of okinawa kenpo TAKETO NAKAMURA and got instructions of how to run the Okinawa kenpo karate kobudo renney from the grand master him self, in his association Okinawa kenpo karate kobudo renme 7-8-9-degree black belts are bull shit. On the other hand sensei Odo's training regimen is correct. If you do all of it, not just part of it. To see other details of the visit Gonzalo Marine Flores blog (kenpo 1972) the numbers may not be correct. But go to google search and type in kenpo and it will give correct numbers me and my 41 yr old son did training at the beach in our room in sensei Odo's dojo and mainly at the Nago dojo where the grand master and saiko shihan lives. This information applies only for people in the Okinawa kenpo karate kobudo renney that Neco Medes Flores is president of. If you want to come under this asan. Train in the manner sensei Flores family was trained by sensei odo, and acknowledge that Taketo Nakamura as the rightful grand master by birth right. The grand master Taketo Nakamura was very happy that we went to visit him and that sensei Odo
Sensei odo lives within us in our spirited have to represent him in our personal way, what is in our hearts
And t the rest whom didn't have sensei odo, you must remain loyal to your okinawan art.
B. Kenpo fist fist law Okinawa kenpo karate kobudo. Let's take one word at a timeOKONAWA this is the physical location, KENPO the translation is fist law. Karate before the 1900's it ment china hand, then later to be politically correct with the jaoaneese it had to be changed to empty hand. Al though china hand and empty hand are pronounced the same in kanji ( chineese characters ) they are spelled different.
KOBUDO the translation is KO old or ancient BUDO warrior ways.
The tournament went well
Our okinawan trip went well
The status of Okinawa kenpo is alive and well.
